Client brief

The client required a modern facade design for a luxury apartment building, emphasizing a high-end look with integrated biophilic elements. We were tasked with preparing a comparative study of two distinct color schemes—one dark and one light—to assist the client in finalizing the exterior finish and overall branding, while keeping the core architectural features consistent across both options.

Scheme A — Dramatic Obsidian Luxury

This scheme presents a moody, ultra-modern evening aesthetic using a deep, textured matte-black cladding as the primary finish.

Primary Envelope
The main structure and balcony faces are finished in a deep, textured matte-black cladding.
Lighting & Ambiance
Integrated recessed warm-white spotlights under the balconies cast a golden glow, accentuating the warm wood tones against the dark facade.
Perimeter Integration
The boundary walls are rendered in matching black, allowing the vibrant green landscaping and sidewalk pattern to stand out dramatically.

Scheme B — Crisp Minimalist Contrast

This option shifts the building's character to a bright, airy, Mediterranean-contemporary style by using a brilliant white finish.

Primary Envelope
The dark cladding is replaced entirely with a stark, brilliant white stucco or concrete finish.
Visual Dynamics
The white finish reflects natural daylight, making the green planter beds appear sharper and transforming the central timber column into a high-contrast focal point.
Perimeter Integration
The boundary walls also switch to white, creating a clean, monolithic perimeter that establishes a bright daytime profile.
